Final Day In The Big Easy

The morning began with an early up to load the bus before heading to worship. We took our time getting to worship and sat in the upper level. Worship began with the house band warm-up songs and then a very cool progression of lights were carried into the dome through the aisles by many young people!

Bishop Hanson delivered a powerful message challenging our youth to continue to knock down the walls of injustice in the world. He proclaimed that God has already knocked down the walls through Jesus... let's not allow them to be built again. After communing with 33,000 people in the Superdome, worship came to a close with the words: See you in Detroit for the 2012 National Youth Gathering!

We boarded the bus and headed out on our journey home. Our wonderful bus driver, Tom, picked up some box lunches for us and we ate on the road and then for awhile there were only 2 people awake on the bus... just me and the bus driver. (I am really glad Tom is awake!)

Well, we arrived in Cape Girardeau about 9:30 and saw a sign at Burger King that said 50 cent ice cream cones.  After checking in to the hotel we headed over for a treat.  As the boys in the front of the line were ordering everything but ice cream, the lady behind the counter says "no more ice cream or shakes"  and in unison many voices said "Whaaaaaattttttt?"  So we settled for ice cream novelties from the gas station.  It was a good day of travel....we are half-way home.  An early to bed (sort of) to get an early start tomorrow....good night from Missouri..... see you tomorrow Stewie!!!
